New Patient

What to Expect at Your First Visit

First appointments generally are about an hour and 15 minutes. This gives us time to complete our usual check-up routine while also getting to know you and your dental history.

We know a visit to the dentist can be a bit unnerving, so here’s everything you can expect from your first visit with us:

  • Check in with our front desk 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time
  • Enjoy our lobby and watch some TV while you wait to be called back
  • When it’s your turn to be seen, you’ll be called, and one of our friendly team members will get you situated in one of our rooms (each room has its own TV for your comfort)
  • We’ll begin your appointment by taking your X-rays with our digital machine
  • We’ll measure the health of your gums and do some diagnostic testing
  • We’ll take some photos with our tiny Intra-Oral Camera
  • Dr. Draughn will speak to you about any concerns you may have, any findings by our office, and next steps if needed.

If time allows, a cleaning often ends the appointment. Depending on the patient and day, cleanings may need to be scheduled for a second visit.
