The dentist can be scary even as an adult. We get it. For our youngest patients who don’t understand what’s happening or older children who are anxious about their visit, we offer nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, as a safe way to help them combat their anxiety and have a more positive experience. There are no long-term effects, with the gas wearing off quickly after stopping administration.
Pediatric
We love caring for small smiles. When working with children, our priority is ensuring they feel safe and supported during their treatments. To do so, we offer a couple of options to help ease anxiety and minimize invasive treatments.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Stainless Steel Crowns
If a child’s baby tooth has decay, instead of numbing and removing it, we can avoid the filling or usual crown process by covering it directly with a stainless steel crown. The crown and cement suffocate the bacteria causing the cavity (which needs oxygen to survive). This kills the cavity, allowing the child to lose the tooth naturally — sometimes we can avoid any “scary” drilling!
